Our Mission & Vision

Our vision and mission is to help connect people to faith.

We are a congregation of the Martin First United Methodist Church, located at the intersection of Main and McCombs Streets near downtown Martin. We would love to be your church family! Martin FUMC is a vibrant, growing congregation with Christians of all ages. We have active children, youth, music, and adult ministry, with a dedicated ministerial staff. Our pastor is Amanda Crice. Sunday’s worship service is at 10:00 am and Sunday School is at 9:00. Come worship with us!

Mission & Purpose

The church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord,
she is his new creation by water and the Word.
From heaven he came and sought her to be his holy bride.
With his own blood he bought her, and for her life he died.

Elect from every nation, yet one o’er all the earth,
her charter of salvation, one Lord, one faith, one birth.
One holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food;
and to one hope she presses with every grace endued.

Though with a scornful wonder we see her sore oppressed
by schisms rent asunder, by heresies distressed.
Yet saints their watch are keeping, their cry goes up, “How Long?”
And soon the night of weeping shall be the morn of song.

Mid toil and tribulation and tumult of her war,
she waits the consummation of peace forevermore;
till, with the vision glorious, her longing eyes are blest,
and the great church victorious shall be the church at rest.

Yet she on earth hath union with God the Three in One,
and mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won.
O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we
like them, the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with thee.

What if there is inclement weather before a service?

We have learned over the years that it is best in the long run to be consistent in our decisions about when to cancel church events. We abide by the practice that our church activities will follow the Weakley County School calendar. Therefore, if school is closed, our activities will be cancelled. Listen to the local radio station for school cancellations.

Sunday worship cancellations are rare. Our Facebook page will be updated immediately and If necessary, we will work to get word of worship cancellation on the local radio station, the Paducah and Jackson television stations, and our own website.
